About this series

This series transforms the urban environment of Poznań's Malta district into studies of pure form, color, and texture. Rather than documenting the area's specific architectural features, these photographs extract abstract elements from the neighborhood - isolating patterns, shadows, and compositional relationships that exist independently of their original context. Each image focuses on the essential visual elements found within Malta: the interplay of light and shadow on surfaces, the geometric relationships between forms, the subtle color harmonies that emerge from weathered materials. The photographs strip away narrative content to reveal the underlying abstract beauty hidden within this particular district's urban spaces. Working in Malta provided a rich source of textures, patterns, and architectural details that, when approached with an abstract eye, become pure visual compositions. These images invite viewers to see beyond the literal representation of this Poznań neighborhood and discover the artistic potential that exists when any urban environment is observed with intention and creative vision.

Inspiration

The discovery that any city, when viewed abstractly, becomes a source of infinite visual compositions - finding art in the overlooked details and patterns of urban space.

Technical Notes

Close focus on textures, patterns, and compositional elements. Used selective framing to isolate abstract forms from their architectural context.
