Cape Town Mountains
Dramatic landscapes of Lion's Head and Table Mountain in their natural grandeur.

About this series
In this series, I focused entirely on the raw, untamed beauty of Lion's Head and Table Mountain - capturing these geological giants in their pure natural state, removed from urban context. My intention was to document the monumental character of these formations as they exist in wilderness, before human intervention shapes our perception of them. These ancient granite faces have presided over the Cape Peninsula for millions of years, and I wanted to capture that timeless quality - the weight of geological time made visible through stone and shadow. Each photograph seeks to reveal the essential character of these mountains as natural monuments, independent of their role in human geography. The series explores the dramatic textures, forms, and atmospheric conditions that define these peaks. From the distinctive flat summit of Table Mountain to the sharp profile of Lion's Head, I aimed to document how light and weather interact with these massive stone formations to create ever-changing yet eternal landscapes.
Inspiration
The desire to see and photograph these famous mountains as pure natural phenomena, stripped of their urban associations.
